GURU PARAMPARA OF SHANKARACHARYA

Adi Shankaracharya is the guru-brother of our Gurudev Nikhileshwaranandji and guruji considers him as his poorvaj.They together makes two of the three disciples of Dada gurudev Swami Sachidanand ji Maharaj.

Shankaracharya accepted sanyas at a tender age and achieved great wisdom.He defeated all the scholars across India and established four mutts in four corners of India .


Jyotir Mutt in North 
Kshetra - Badarikashram
Dev - Narayan
Devi - Punnagiri
Thirth - Alakananda
Ved - Atharva
Mahavakya - Ayaamatma Brahm

Shringeri Mutt in South
Kshetra - Rameshwar
Dev - Aadi Varah
Devi - Kaamakhya
Thirth - Thunga bhadra
Ved - Yaju
Mahavakya - Aham Brahmasmi

Govardhan Mutt in East
Kshetra - Puri
Dev - Jagannath
Devi - Vimala
Thirth - Mahodadhi
Ved - Rig
Mahavakya - Pragyanam Brahma

Sharda Mutt in West
Kshetra - Dwarka
Dev - Siddheshvar
Devi - Bhadrakali
Tirth - Ganga and Gomathi
Ved - Saam
Mahavakya - Tatvamasi

Shankaracharya appointed one disciple each at the four mutts.Vishwaroopaacharya,Padmapaadacharya,Trotakaacharya and Prithvidharacharya.

  • Vishwaroopaacharya's two disciples - Theerth and Ashram
  • Padmapaadacharya's two disciples - Van and Arannya
  • Trotakaacharya's three disciples - Giri,Parvat and Saagar
  • Prithvidharacharya's three disciples - Saraswati,Bhaarthi and Puri
Thus there are ten sampradaayaas in this samudaay.
