Tara devi is the second mahavidya among the ten ruling powers of nature.Since tara devi was the adhishtatri of Lord buddha, she is an important devi among buddhists. However, viewing tara devi as relevant to buddhism alone is completely wrong.
Tara devi is very important in our Hinduism also. When lord shiva drank the halahal poison from samudra manthan,it reached his neck and made it blue in colour. He became known as neelakanta.
Tara devi came running to prevent any problem to lord Shiva and she prevented poison from going further down into his body, thus protecting Shiva. Thus She became well-liked by Bhagwan Shiva. So Maa tara devi is equally important in hinduism and buddhism.Tara devi is the goddess who gives gold daily to her sadhak and she as neel saraswati provides complete wisdom to her sadhak.
