SIGNIFICANCE OF PITRA TARPAN

As time passes, human beings change and evolve. Putra becomes Pita ; Pita becomes Pitra.Pitra or ancestor is allowed to visit his children during Shraadh-paksha.So Tarpan is done at this time.

Virah creates heat and hence water is given with emotional attachment to the fore-father.Prem bhaav filled mental energy waves reaches them and they become happy and satisfied (Tript).Then they blesses their children for all material benefits and happy life.

Thus it is essential to perform Pitra-tarpan.In case of wandering souls, shaman can be done for ancestors and even pret by dhurjata sadhana.

These concepts are based on the real fact that we are all made of the same micro particles,by which this universe is made.Souls blessed with guts and glory are born in the race,in which Pitra-Tarpan is done regularly.

SHRAADH

Shraddha is done to get mukti for your ancestors and get their blessings.
There are 12 types of Shraddha

• Nitya Shraaddh  -   Daily Shraadh
• Naimithik Shraaddh -This is ekoddhisht Shraadh
• Kamya Shraaddh - Desire fulfilment
• Vridhi Shraadh - Dhan dhanya and vamsh vridhi
• Sapindan Shraadh - Shraadh for pretatma,pitratma,devatma and agyaat atma
• Paarvan Shraadh - done on amavasya or special occassion
• Gosht Shraadh - done for cows
• Shudhayarth Shraadh - sukh sampathi, pitra tripthi and blessings of learned men
• Karmaang Shraadh - done during garbhaadhaan and punsvan samskaar
• Daivik Shraadh - to appease gods havan is done using ghee at time before travel etc
• Aupachaarik Shraadh - To get vriddhi and pushti of body
• Sanvatsarik Shraadh - Done on punya tithi of dead person,This is the most important shraadha

Shraadh is done for not only mukthi of parents but for all ancestors

PANCH GRAAS IN SHRAADH

Pitra-Shraddh is done to get the blessings of our ancestors.It is the rule of Shraddh that food has to be offered as five small mounds .They are called Panch-graas

Sarva Pitra dosh mukthi deeksha can be taken from Gurudev.
